Tips for Framing a Portrait — Take your time. Work in a low traffic, minimal dust and bright environment. It’s easy to accidentally capture dust under the glass when framing.
Step 1
Align the semi transparent film with the the paper behind it. Handle by the edges only - to prevent oils from transferring to the paper & smudging the graphite
Step 2
Place a strip of transparent tape (3”) length wise behind the white paper - sticky side facing up (along each side of the portrait)
Step 3
Hover the mat above the portrait to see the best option for framing. Once the desired position is achieve, lower the mat so that it connects to sticky tape below. Being careful not to touch the active portrait sight
Once you have your mat securely affixed to the portrait, try your best to place it into the frame you have chosen — limiting potential dust particles from landing under the glass.
The synthetic paper and white paper I have cut are both archival and will not yellow over time.
Please keep out of direct sunlight.
